The PUBG franchise has experienced a substantial revenue increase of 25 percent in the first half of 2026 compared to the previous year, according to Krafton's second quarter financial earnings report. Despite no longer dominating headlines, the series remains a consistent presence among Steam's top five most played games.
All three core titles—PUBG: Battlegrounds on PC, PUBG Mobile, and Battlegrounds Mobile India—contributed to this growth. Krafton attributes the success to recent collaborations and the introduction of new game modes. On PC, these included the cooperative PvE mode Xeno Point and a crossover event with the Payday series. The publisher indicated that further diverse modes and collaborations are planned for the latter half of 2026.
The mobile segment of the PUBG brand also saw growth, partly fueled by user-generated content (UGC) created through the World of Wonder platform, a creative suite designed to foster user creativity. Krafton intends to enhance its creation tools, expand UGC by incorporating global intellectual properties like Naruto and Spider-Man, and improve user engagement through new in-game currencies and creator rewards.
Krafton's overall operating profit reached a new record of 410.9 billion KRW (approximately £213 million) in the second quarter, marking a 67.0 percent increase year-on-year. Notably, the PC and console segments were the primary drivers of revenue growth, with PC revenue up by 155.1 percent and console revenue by 143.3 percent year-on-year. Mobile, in contrast, experienced a more modest 5.5 percent growth.
In other financial news, Krafton also reported strong performance from the early access release of Subnautica 2, which has prompted the company to develop it into a franchise IP.
