Quentin Tarantino Confirms Script for Final Film, Cites Need to 'Live' First

Quentin Tarantino has confirmed that he has written a script for his tenth and final directorial film. However, the filmmaker stated during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show that he intends to "live" a bit before embarking on the project.

Tarantino indicated that the script he has written is for a film he "could" make and one he "really, really likes." Before beginning production, he plans to complete his upcoming West End play, "The Popinjay Cavalier," which is scheduled to begin previews in February 2027 and open in March. Following the play, Tarantino intends to spend time with his family and "live" before making further decisions about his final movie.

The director, known for films such as "Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood" and "Pulp Fiction," has spoken for years about his intention to conclude his directorial career with his tenth film. This plan has reportedly been in place since before the release of his eighth film, "The Hateful Eight," in 2014. The announcement of a completed script for this final project follows earlier rumors and scrapped ideas, including a potential "Star Trek" film and a project tentatively titled "The Movie Critic."

While Tarantino's next theatrical feature may still be some time away, fans can anticipate another cinematic release from his universe. "The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth," a follow-up to "Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood" written by Tarantino and directed by David Fincher, is set to premiere next month.
