Netmarble's global dark fantasy MMORPG, Raven2, has launched a new server update called "Zero," aiming to provide a more accessible experience for new and returning players. The update focuses on a redesigned progression system and an overhauled competitive structure to allow players to gain a foothold in the game through gameplay alone.
The "Zero" server is tailored for players who may feel discouraged by the high level of player-versus-player (PvP) competition found on existing servers. By reducing quest requirements and increasing experience gains from defeating monsters, the update seeks to accelerate early progression. Accuracy balances have also been adjusted to make navigating hunting areas more manageable.
To further alleviate pressure to spend real money, Mythic-grade Holy Garments, Familiars, and Awakenings are excluded from the "Zero" server. Instead, players will gain access to a variety of Holy Garments and Familiars through gameplay and participation in events. These items represent the highest-graded equipment available on "Zero," emphasizing character growth through in-game progression rather than immediate purchases.
Raven2 – Zero also enhances the core MMORPG farming experience by increasing drop rates for field loot. Players can collect "Farming Crystals," a new in-game currency earned through field hunting, which can be exchanged for key items in the shop. New accuracy balances are intended to ensure player contributions in large-scale battles are registered effectively.
Newcomers to the "Zero" server will receive the "[Zero] Special Starter Package," which includes Heroic-grade Holy Garments and Familiars, along with 550 Summon scrolls and Legendary Holy Garments and Familiars. These items are designed to aid character growth without extensive grinding. Additional Heroic-grade equipment and level milestone rewards are planned through future events. The update also features Welcome Back events for lapsed players, offering Legendary Holy Garments and Familiars, 330 Summons, and more, complemented by an ongoing Burning Event to support faster progression. Players can select from 10 distinct classes, each offering a unique combat style, and assume the role of a character marked with the "Cursed Stigma" tasked with vanquishing demons and monsters across a decaying world.
The "Zero" server seeks to create an equitable starting point, allowing players to focus on combating in-game enemies rather than facing immediate competition from established players. This approach aims to let players carve out their own experience in Raven2, even within its otherwise brutal apocalyptic setting.
