Prime Video's expansive take on Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels has yielded another streaming success: the spinoff series "Neagley." Following the conclusion of the fourth season of "Reacher," which has amassed over 200 million viewers to date, the new series has ascended to the number one spot on the platform's charts.
"Neagley," starring Maria Sten as the titular private investigator and former Army protégé of Jack Reacher, dropped all eight of its episodes simultaneously in mid-August. This strategy proved effective, as the show quickly climbed to the top of Prime Video's viewership rankings in the U.S. and across Europe, pushing the original "Reacher" series to the second position.
The spinoff centers on Frances Neagley as she investigates the suspicious death of a friend from her past, embarking on a perilous journey to uncover a significant conspiracy. While based on Lee Child's characters, the series is not a direct adaptation of his novels. The cast also includes Greyston Holt, Matthew Del Negro, Adeline Rudolph, Damon Herriman, and Joel Keller.
The critical and commercial success of the first season has led Amazon MGM Studios to greenlight a second season. "Audiences around the world have embraced Frances Neagley as a force all her own," said Peter Friedlander, head of global television for Amazon MGM Studios. "Maria Sten delivers a commanding, layered performance that drives every episode, and Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton have built a world that is both thrilling and compelling. We are excited to continue this story and explore what’s next for Neagley with our partners at Paramount Television Studios."
While a release window for "Neagley" season two has not yet been announced, fans can anticipate its arrival possibly in 2028, given the production timelines of the franchise. This news ensures that followers of the action-packed universe will have content to bridge the gap between seasons of "Reacher," with season five expected around 2027.
