Prime Video has officially confirmed a second season for its Reacher spinoff,
"Neagley". The renewal comes just days after Amazon MGM Studios announced a sixth season for the main
Reacher series. The spinoff, which debuted on September 16, has proven to be a significant success, holding the number one position on Prime Video's streaming charts.
In its first 13 days, "Neagley" attracted 40 million viewers, making it Amazon's fourth most-watched series debut. For comparison, the fourth season of Reacher reached 66 million viewers globally within its first 28 days. Alan Ritchson reprised his role as Jack Reacher in the spinoff in a guest appearance, likely contributing to its strong performance.
"Neagley" stars Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, a former protégé of Jack Reacher and a private investigator. The series sees Neagley investigating the suspicious death of a friend from her past, embarking on a dangerous quest to uncover a conspiracy. While the character is based on Lee Child's creations, the series is not a direct adaptation of his novels.
"Audiences around the world have embraced Frances Neagley as a force all her own," stated Peter Friedlander, head of global television for Amazon MGM Studios. "Maria Sten delivers a commanding, layered performance that drives every episode, and Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton have built a world that is both thrilling and compelling. We are excited to continue this story and explore what’s next for Neagley with our partners at Paramount Television Studios."
No release window has been announced for "Neagley" season 2. However, given the production timeline of the first season, fans might anticipate its arrival in 2028. This would follow the expected 2027 release of Reacher season 5, providing ample content for fans of the franchise.
