Professional freerunner and Red Bull athlete Lilou Ruel has set a new world record for the highest haystack jump, recreating the signature "Leap of Faith" maneuver made famous by the Assassin’s Creed video game franchise. Ruel successfully jumped 18.2 meters (approximately 59.7 feet) into a large stack of hay, a feat comparable in height to a six-story building.

The stunt was captured in a viral video released by Red Bull, showing Ruel’s descent and safe landing in the hay. Following the jump, Ruel expressed excitement and a sense of accomplishment, joking on Instagram about Red Bull "giving me wings for a few seconds" and suggesting the possibility of even higher jumps in the future.

This event marks a continuation of Red Bull athletes recreating Assassin's Creed stunts. In May 2026, Dominic Tommasso previously held the record for a 18.1-meter haystack jump, performed while dressed as Edward Kenway to celebrate the release of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag has seen significant commercial success, reportedly selling 2 million copies within its first 24 hours and surpassing 3 million copies sold a week later. Ubisoft has also announced that a New Game Plus mode is in development for the title. The game's downloadable content on Steam alone generated $1 million on its launch day, contributing to the series' largest player streak on the PC platform.

Despite the game's success, Ubisoft faced controversy regarding recent layoffs, with 380 staff members affected in June. Notably, 51 employees from the Ubisoft Barcelona office who worked on the game's diving sections are reportedly campaigning for fairer severance pay, stating their current compensation is "below any reasonable standard."
