Morningrise Games has announced Red Echoes: Berlin, a turn-based strategy game set during the German November Revolution of 1918 and 1919. The game puts players in the role of three distinct agitators attempting to overthrow the Kaiser amidst the aftermath of World War I. Inspired by the design of classic Weimar-era graphics, the game features a map of Berlin where players can deploy special abilities.
The narrative unfolds across three chapters, allowing players to interact with historical figures such as Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg. The game aims for a playtime of approximately three to four hours, with multiple endings possible, ranging from complete defeat to a successful revolution. The developers stated that Red Echoes: Berlin is being made by a new studio founded by an individual who previously worked on the acclaimed game Suzerain and its downloadable content.
Red Echoes: Berlin is slated for release later this year. The game's Steam page describes a world reeling from the Great War, with widespread shortages and growing calls for change. Inspired by the Russian Revolution, revolutionaries in Berlin see an opportunity as the Kaiser's armies are engaged abroad.
