The upcoming game Remote Control centers on the unsettling premise of another person controlling your every action. Players will step into the role of an operator who must guide human proxies through a derelict spaceship, known as The Pelican, to discover what catastrophic events transpired.

Upon commencing a mission, a human proxy is placed aboard the ship. The gameplay then evolves into a blend of dungeon crawling and a typing-based simulator. To move the proxy, turn, use an item, or interact with the environment, players must type the corresponding command. This direct input method, while potentially laborious, offers a tactile experience by mirroring the physical actions the character performs.

Players must exercise caution due to environmental hazards and an unknown presence aboard the ship. The proxies are also vulnerable to sickness and can die, making their survival dependent on the player's careful management. Failure to protect the proxies could result in the player losing their own job.

While this gameplay structure may not appeal to all players, Remote Control's dedication to its typing mechanic is notable. In an era where game interaction is often streamlined, this more involved approach, despite occasional friction, provides a refreshing departure from conventional control schemes.

Remote Control is slated for an autumn release. A demo is currently available on Steam, where players can also wishlist the game.
