Resident Evil Director Suggests Christina Hendricks for Lady Dimitrescu Role

If a film adaptation of Resident Evil Village were to be made, director Zach Cregger has a specific actress in mind to portray the towering fan-favorite, Lady Dimitrescu: Christina Hendricks.

Cregger, whose latest film based on the Resident Evil franchise is set to release, discussed his casting choice with Pedestrian TV. "That feels about right to me," he stated regarding Hendricks. Lady Dimitrescu, a tall, vampiric antagonist, became one of Resident Evil Village's most memorable characters. Capcom developers have previously mentioned that her design drew inspiration from figures like Morticia Addams, with an intention to avoid a purely Gothic vampire aesthetic.

Hendricks is widely recognized for her Emmy-nominated role as Joan Holloway in AMC's Mad Men and her performance as Beth Boland in NBC's Good Girls. Her experience also extends to voice acting, having voiced Gabby Gabby in Toy Story 4 and Cherie in Solar Opposites. Hendricks has a past connection to video games, having played Sam Harper in Need for Speed: The Run in 2011.

In the game itself, Lady Dimitrescu is voiced by Maggie Robertson, whose performance earned her the Best Performance award at The Game Awards. While the possibility of a Resident Evil Village movie remains speculative, the new Resident Evil film, which does not include characters from the games but will feature Easter eggs for fans, arrives in theaters on Friday, September 18.
