Capcom has announced that the upcoming remake of Resident Evil Veronica has garnered over 2 million wishlists across multiple platforms. This milestone, achieved before the game's release, indicates strong anticipation from players for the reimagined survival horror title. The game is slated for a 2027 release.

Wishlists serve as a key metric for publishers to gauge player interest and can also boost a game's visibility on digital storefronts. The announcement was made via a post on X, where Capcom also provided links to the game's store pages on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo's upcoming Switch 2 console.

The remake is based on Resident Evil Code: Veronica, a spin-off that, despite not reaching the commercial heights of the main numbered entries, has cultivated a dedicated following since its original release. Fans have long called for a modern remake, which was officially revealed at Summer Game Fest this year.

Development for Resident Evil Veronica is being helmed by core members of the teams responsible for the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes. Capcom has confirmed that the remake will adopt a third-person perspective, similar to Resident Evil 2. The developer also explained that the removal of "Code" from the title was to create a sharper, more direct name. Furthermore, the narrative is being adjusted to better align with the evolving Resident Evil universe, incorporating elements from both recent sequels and modern remakes.
