Nick Apostolides, the voice behind Leon S. Kennedy in the latest Resident Evil installment, has shared a humorous line he wished had made it into the final game. Apostolides, who also voiced Leon in Resident Evil 4, adopted a persona for the character reminiscent of '80s action heroes, infusing his performance with a number of memorable one-liners.
During a podcast appearance with fellow voice actors Ben Starr and Alanah Pearce, Apostolides revealed a line he had pitched for Leon's encounter with the Titan Spinner boss. "When you fight the spider, I wanted to say — and we recorded it — ‘You know, you’ve been a real itsy-bitsy pain in my ass,'" Apostolides recounted, delivering the line in Leon's signature gruff voice. He expressed that the line would have been his "favorite" had it been included in the game, calling it a potential "banger."
While this particular quip was not used, Leon's in-game dialogue during the Titan Spinner fight includes lines such as, "You are a real pest, you know that?" and, "I don’t have time for pest control." The omission of Apostolides' proposed line has drawn agreement from fellow voice actors and fans online, many of whom consider it a missed opportunity for comedic effect.
