Riftbound, the trading card game set in the League of Legends universe, is preparing to launch its fourth official set, Vendetta. This new set leans into 'enemy' color pairings, aligning opposite color identities and rival Legends.

As part of the preview season, Game Informer has revealed an exclusive Overnumbered card featuring Ambessa, the Matriarch of War. In Riftbound, Legends define a deck's colors and provide persistent effects throughout a match. Ambessa's Legend introduces the "Empower" mechanic, new to the Vendetta set.

Ambessa's Legend becomes Empowered when another card or ability is Empowered, typically at an additional cost. Players can then expend this Empowered state, along with a recycled Rune and exhausting Ambessa, to "ready" a unit. This allows for rapid unit repositioning, activation of multiple exhaust effects, and other tactical combat maneuvers.

The revealed Overnumbered card, designated as 196/166 within the set, features artwork by Aliya Chen depicting Ambessa in full battle regalia. This striking visual is anticipated to appeal to players favoring aggressive, "beatdown" strategies with Ambessa leading their deck.

The Vendetta set for Riftbound is scheduled to be released on July 31, with initial availability in English and Chinese. Further card reveals will continue throughout the preview season.
