Riot Games' League of Legends card game, Riftbound, is set to launch its fifth expansion, Radiance, on October 23. Ahead of the release, Game Informer has provided an exclusive first look at a new champion card: Ziggs, Explosive. This card aims to capture the chaotic, explosive playstyle of the Yordle champion from League of Legends.
Ziggs, Explosive enters the game with 4 Might and a cost of 4, falling under the purple "Chaos" color scheme. His unique mechanic involves exhausting resources to deploy special Bomb gear tokens onto battlefields. The Bomb token carries a Deathknell ability, which deals 2 damage to an enemy unit on the same battlefield and destroys all other Bomb tokens controlled by the player on that field. This synergy allows Ziggs to control the board by strategically placing and detonating Bombs.
When defending, Ziggs can utilize his ability to destroy a friendly gear token to gain an additional 2 Might for the turn. This provides a significant combat advantage, especially when an opponent attempts to contest his controlled battlefield. These tactical combat effects align with the "Chaos" moniker, introducing variables that can tilt the scales in the player's favor when opponents press their advantage.
The reveal also includes a look at an alternative art for Ziggs, showcasing his "BZZZiggs" skin from League of Legends. The flavor text accompanying this art has been highlighted as a particular point of interest.
