Robert Pattinson has lauded Steven Soderbergh for his "selfless" decision to step in and help complete production on The Batman Part 2. Soderbergh is reportedly assisting director Matt Reeves, who had to step away from the film during its final weeks due to personal matters.
Soderbergh's involvement is described not as a studio replacement but as a supportive measure to ensure Reeves' vision for the film is realized. "It's incredibly generous of him – and he’s doing it in the loveliest way. It’s completely selfless," Pattinson told GamesRadar. "I think Matt had put so much work into the script, and we’re almost done. So for someone to come in and say, ‘I just want to help Matt do it; I want to do it in conjunction with him and just get it to the edit.’ And to have someone who’s as talented as Steven doing it is great."
Pattinson confirmed that filming has resumed, and he is expected to return to the set as Bruce Wayne/Batman next week. Details regarding the film's plot and villains remain undisclosed. Sebastian Stan is rumored to be playing an antagonist, possibly Harvey Dent, though his recent appearance has led to speculation. Scarlett Johansson is also confirmed to have a significant role, but her character and alignment are currently unknown.
The Batman Part 2 is scheduled for release on February 18, 2026.
