Veteran voice actor Robin Atkin Downes has officially confirmed his participation in Naughty Dog's forthcoming title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Downes, a British actor with a prolific career in video games and animation, shared the news via social media, expressing his excitement to be collaborating with the studio again.
Downes is no stranger to Naughty Dog's acclaimed franchises, having portrayed Robert in The Last of Us and lent his voice to multiple characters across every Uncharted game, including Atoq Navarro, Tenzin, and Talbot. In his social media post, Downes stated, "I've been keeping this one quiet for a while....The journey continues! Awesome to be working again with the Dawgs!" He also shared a brief video clip of himself in performance capture gear, featuring a Naughty Dog patch, suggesting he is actively involved in the game's development.
Details surrounding Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet remain scarce since its initial announcement. The game is described as a sci-fi action-adventure centered around a bounty hunter wielding a plasma sword. Development began in 2020, and it was formally revealed at The Game Awards in 2024. Naughty Dog's creative director, Neil Druckmann, has previously characterized the project as the studio's most ambitious and potentially most expensive game to date.
The cast for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet includes Tati Gabrielle as the protagonist Jordan, Tony Dalton from Better Call Saul, and returning Naughty Dog collaborators Merle Dandridge, who voiced Marlene in The Last of Us, and Troy Baker, known for his roles as Joel in The Last of Us and Sam Drake in the Uncharted series.
This confirmation comes as Naughty Dog nears six years since its last game release. In the interim, the studio focused on developing the now-canceled The Last of Us Online, with a significant portion of the team dedicated to that project before its cessation. Many developers from that project have since transitioned to work on Intergalactic. An official launch date for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet has not yet been announced.
