Roblox has implemented new restrictions on "reward-driven media feeds" within games, specifically targeting mechanics that encourage continuous scrolling of short-form videos, images, or story-style posts for users under the age of 16. This change comes in response to games like "Steal an Egg," which featured a treadmill where players could "doomscroll" through TikTok-style videos to increase their in-game speed and steal eggs more effectively.

Effective immediately, games categorized under Roblox Kids and Select will be prohibited from combining automatically playing or looping media feeds with any form of reward for continued consumption. Roblox stated that "rewarding users to consume a continuous feed of content without natural stopping points is not appropriate for younger users."

While the platform is restricting this specific combination, the FAQ clarifies that games can still incorporate endless scrolling content as long as there is no reward tied to it. Additionally, the policy does not apply to rewarded video advertisements, as these require active user initiation and have rate limits. Games that previously included these restricted mechanics can be reviewed for continued playability on Roblox Kids and Select after the offending elements are removed.
