Roblox has announced six new games designated for mature players aged 18 and up, developed through its Roblox Incubator program. Among these is "Drifters," an extraction shooter being created by Look North World, a studio founded by Alexander Seropian, co-founder of the renowned game developer Bungie.

The Roblox Incubator program, a six-month initiative, supports experienced developers in transforming novel game concepts into fully realized experiences. The current cohort, comprising 26 teams, receives ongoing support and additional resources from Roblox Studio as they reach developmental milestones.

"Drifters" is poised to be a significant entry, with Seropian, now CEO of Look North World, drawing on talent from studios like Bungie, EA, and Epic Games. The game is described as set in a perilous world populated by formidable enemies and competitive players. Seropian expressed enthusiasm for the Roblox platform, citing its energetic audience growth, robust tools, and the potential it represents for the future of interactive entertainment.

Beyond "Drifters," the Incubator cohort features a diverse range of genres. "Cosmic Carnage," developed by Ghost Fox Games, aims to deliver a vehicular combat experience akin to "Twisted Metal" on the Roblox platform. Nibblebyte is developing "Fossil Force," another extraction shooter that transports players to the Mesozoic Era to battle dinosaurs, building upon their previous "Be Dino" simulation game.

For players seeking exploration, Pixel Blaze Studio's "Aetherfall" offers an open-world, progression-driven RPG set in a world transformed by elemental powers. "Sky Pixel," by Pixel Count, is a 2D action-adventure RPG focused on building and expanding on floating islands. Lastly, Ignition Switch is crafting "Octane," an open-world driving game that allows players to cruise, create tracks, and customize vehicles in the virtual city of La Vista.

Roblox Studio indicated that the initial glimpses of these games demonstrate the teams' utilization of the latest creation, performance, and avatar technologies within Roblox Studio. While development is ongoing and specific launch dates have not yet been announced, Roblox continues to invest in expanding its platform to cater to older demographics.
