Rockstar Games has announced official support for Nopixel V, the latest iteration of the modded Grand Theft Auto V roleplaying servers. This move signifies a continued commitment to the thriving roleplaying community built around the decade-old title, while the company remains silent on PC release plans for its next major game.
Nopixel V, developed by Nopixel Studios, represents an evolution of the GTA roleplaying sandbox. The modded experience introduces significant changes to the game world, including new buildings and locations designed to enhance player immersion and storytelling. Notably, the update features a new hotel and casino called The Pixel and reworks a substantial portion of the Cypress Flats industrial area. Character customization mechanics have also been enhanced, and non-player characters are programmed to exhibit more realistic reactions to player actions. New in-game activities for roleplayers have also been added.
The closed beta for Nopixel V is scheduled to begin on September 8th, granting access to invited players and streamers. These select participants will access the experience through the Rockstar Games Launcher. Details about broader access for the public remain undisclosed. Some of the invited streamers are expected to feature characters with notably unusual names, such as Dark Suckaberg and Vin Petrol, drawing attention for their unique character choices.
This announcement comes amidst ongoing anticipation for a PC version of Rockstar's next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series. The continued focus on enhancing the roleplaying experience within GTA V suggests that PC players may not see a native GTA 6 online component for some time. For now, fans interested in Nopixel V will likely have to rely on streams and videos from invited participants to experience this "next evolution" of GTA roleplaying.
