Rockstar Games has initiated a promotional campaign for Grand Theft Auto 6, beginning with the release of new artwork featuring prominent musicians such as Future, Travis Scott, and Morgan Wallen. These artists have individually shared zoomed-in sections of a larger visual, fueling speculation about their contributions to the game's soundtrack.
Travis Scott posted an image focusing on a woman's heeled feet, accompanied by a mention of Rockstar. Morgan Wallen shared a similar image in Rockstar's distinct art style, without any caption. Further contributing to the puzzle, Future, along with Metro Boomin and Yung Lean, released images featuring a sports car with a "Leonida" license plate, the state where Grand Theft Auto 6 is set. The Argentine hip-hop duo CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso also posted their own image, depicting a yacht.
These posts suggest that a number of musical artists will feature their music in Grand Theft Auto 6. While their exact roles remain unconfirmed, there is precedent for musicians and actors to have more significant presences within the Grand Theft Auto series. Dr. Dre notably appeared as a character in GTA Online, Phil Collins was featured in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, and various comedians have made cameos in titles like GTA 4. Earlier this week, actor Stephen Root seemingly confirmed his rumored role as Brian Heder in GTA 6, though this may have been an accidental reveal.
This soundtrack tease is part of an extensive marketing rollout for Grand Theft Auto 6, which commenced earlier this summer with the opening of pre-orders and a gameplay reveal event hosted on Netflix. Rockstar Games is expected to maintain this momentum leading up to the game's launch, which is now just under two months away.
