A demo for the roguelite colony simulator Trailblazers: Into The March has been released, developer Strangers announced. The game, which has been described as a blend of RimWorld, Nausicaa, Moebius, and FTL: Faster Than Light, tasks players with captaining a hulking landship across a desolate world.
Explore the March
The demo allows players to "overcome dangerous excursions and battle threatening foes," according to the developers. Players can also "take on contracts from the fixer and build out your perfect Trailblazing crew." The landships themselves are large, ground-based vessels that players pilot while engaging in combat with opposing ships. The game also features exploration of the titular March, where players will encounter "enigmatic wonders and unpredictable events."
Crew and Combat
Players are responsible for managing their landship's crew, with each member possessing unique backgrounds and abilities. The game features real-time combat with an option for tactical pausing. On a micro-level, players directly command their crew to execute actions during battles. The visual style combines detailed character portraits with a more abstract representation of the crew aboard the ship, resembling small wooden puppets.
Trailblazers: Into The March does not yet have a release date, but the demo is available for download on Steam, where players can also wishlist the game.
