Connor Storrie, who gained prominence for his role in the 2025 hockey romance series "Heated Rivalry," is reportedly in negotiations to play the villain in Marvel's upcoming "Ghost Rider" film, starring Ryan Gosling.
The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline have both indicated that Storrie is in talks for the role in the film, which is being helmed by Shaw Levy. Storrie was previously an unknown before portraying Ilya Rozanov in "Heated Rivalry," an adaptation of Rachel Reid's novel. The series also saw a significant rise in profile for co-star Hudson Williams.
This would not be Storrie's first appearance in a comic book adaptation; he had a notable, albeit brief, role in "Joker: Folie à Deux." Marvel officially announced the new "Ghost Rider" movie, with Gosling attached as the titular character, at San Diego Comic-Con. Gosling has expressed interest in the project for some time. Filming is scheduled to commence next year, with a release date set for July 28, 2028. The specific version of Ghost Rider Gosling will portray remains unconfirmed, though fan speculation suggests he might play Danny Ketch rather than Johnny Blaze, who was featured in Nicolas Cage's previous films.
Reports have not yet specified which character Storrie would embody, but it is understood he will portray the film's antagonist. While Ghost Rider's rogues' gallery is not as extensive as some other comic book characters, Mephisto is considered his most prominent foe. However, Mephisto has already been introduced into the MCU, played by Sacha Baron Cohen in "Ironheart," making his appearance in "Ghost Rider" unlikely. Potential characters for Storrie could include Zadkiel, a fallen angel with a particularly malevolent nature, or a more eccentric choice like The Orb, a character defined by having a single, large eye for a head. Storrie's acting range suggests he could effectively bring a variety of Ghost Rider's more unusual antagonists to life.
