Ryan Reynolds has assured fans that Marvel will eventually shed light on the enigmatic flashforward scene in "Deadpool & Wolverine" that depicts Thor in tears.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Reynolds was questioned about the poignant moment in the film where Deadpool seemingly witnesses a future where he is gravely injured, with a visibly upset Thor by his side. "Don't we all want to know why was Thor crying? I want to know too," Reynolds commented. "We will find out at some point. And I'm excited for people to find out."
When pressed about the potential implications for future Marvel Cinematic Universe installments like "Avengers: Doomsday" or "Avengers: Secret Wars," Reynolds maintained a playful ignorance regarding his own involvement in those projects. He also addressed a recent humorous appearance with Hugh Jackman where they seemingly lobbied for roles in "Doomsday," stating he "still didn't know" the meaning behind the clip and acknowledging there was "a lot to unpack" within it.
Despite his coy responses, Reynolds' participation in "Avengers: Doomsday" was reported by The Hollywood Reporter last year, making his presence in upcoming films a widely expected development. Currently, Marvel's promotional efforts for "Doomsday" are focusing on the film's ensemble cast, including key figures from the Avengers, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men.
Earlier this week, the directors of "Avengers: Doomsday," Joe and Anthony Russo, discussed their approach to filmmaking, defending their decision to shoot the film without a finalized script and attributing the "magic" of their productions to an improvisational style.
