Saber Interactive has provided further details regarding the implementation of artificial intelligence in its upcoming title, Rideshare Stimulator, following a public disagreement with former lead writer Stella Sacco. The studio confirmed that AI tools are being utilized for specific aspects of the game, including voice generation and certain localization tasks.

Rideshare Stimulator, which places players in the role of a driver navigating a city and interacting with passengers, will feature AI-generated missions. The game's Steam page notes that these missions can be bypassed by players who prefer to engage solely with human-written narrative content. The game will also incorporate both human-composed and AI-generated music for its radio stations, with the AI-created tracks being clearly identified within the game.

Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch has maintained that the core elements of the game, including the main campaign story, characters, and dialogue, were created by a human writing team. This statement comes after Sacco alleged that she was replaced as the game's lead writer by ChatGPT midway through development, a claim Karch has refuted. Karch stated that Sacco violated her confidentiality agreement by bringing these details to light before the company was ready to disclose them.

Karch also expressed a belief that the use of AI in Rideshare Stimulator, positioned as a lower-priced title, could be beneficial for consumers. However, early community reactions on the game's Steam discussions page indicate a degree of player concern regarding the studio's use of AI technology. Rideshare Stimulator is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, though a specific release date has not yet been announced.
