Steve Allison, who recently joined Saber Interactive as Chief Business Officer, has sparked discussion among gamers following comments that suggested a 2028 release window for a slate of upcoming titles, including Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake, and the company's John Wick game. Allison, formerly of the Epic Games Store, made these remarks in a response on Reddit to a fan concerned about potential aggressive monetization in Saber's games.
In his statement, which Saber confirmed as legitimate, Allison aimed to reassure fans about Saber's approach to monetization. He stated that the company's strategy involves selling the main game with plans for free DLC and potentially paid DLC, emphasizing that "Saber has never pursued MTX it’s not how we do our products." He also referenced his past experience at Telltale Games, noting it was also "no MTX company."
Allison's full comment indicated that Saber is preparing for more self-publishing and organizing its group for a "lineup forming for 2028," which he listed as including Space Marine 3, the John Wick game, "hopefully" the KOTOR remake, and several unannounced titles. This mention of a potential 2028 window for the KOTOR remake is particularly notable, as the project has seen little official information since its 2021 reveal.
Saber Interactive has since downplayed the significance of Allison's remarks. A spokesperson for the studio clarified that Allison was speaking broadly and not making official announcements about release dates or launch windows. The company stated, "We have not announced any release dates or confirmed launch windows for Saber's upcoming titles."
Development on the KOTOR remake has been a subject of discussion. In March, Saber's Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits confirmed it was "still in development." Reports from December 2025 suggested that development had shifted from Aspyr to Mad Head Games. Details regarding Space Marine 3 remain scarce, though players anticipate a continuation of Captain Titus's story.
