Sebastian Stan, known for his role as the Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has stated that he has "absolutely nothing" to share about the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, as he participated in its production without ever reading the full script.
In a recent interview with French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche, Stan explained that the cast only shot scattered scenes and did not have access to the complete screenplay. This approach, he noted, is a deliberate choice by the producers to prevent actors from inadvertently revealing plot details to journalists, a practice he has adhered to for fifteen years.
This method of keeping the full script from the cast is not new for Marvel's large-scale ensemble films. Previous reports indicate that for Avengers: Infinity War, only a select few actors, including Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans, received the entire script. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo have also confirmed that Robert Downey Jr. was the only actor to have read the complete script for Avengers: Endgame.
Stan expressed that this method allows him to experience the film as a spectator when it is eventually released, which he sees as part of the "beauty of this job."
Despite the secrecy surrounding the film's plot, Avengers: Doomsday is reportedly generating significant interest, with pre-sale tickets said to be outpacing those for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
