Aspyr Media has revealed that Shrek 2 Remastered, a modern take on the original Xbox-era tie-in game, will be released on November 10. The announcement came during the ID@Xbox showcase for October 2026.
The reveal trailer offers a glimpse of upgraded graphics and new features for beloved characters such as Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and Gingy. The trailer also humorously addresses the game's proximity to the launch of Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto 6, which is scheduled for release just nine days later on November 19.
Instead of shifting its release date, Shrek 2 Remastered is maintaining its November 10 launch. The trailer parodies the marketing of Grand Theft Auto 6, featuring its own rendition of the iconic box art. The original Shrek 2 video game, released in 2004, was a four-player co-op action-adventure title that allowed players to journey through familiar locations from the film and utilize unique character abilities to solve puzzles and complete objectives.
Pre-orders for Shrek 2 Remastered are now available.
