Konami may be on track to fulfill its promise of a new Silent Hill game each year, with a report indicating that Bloober Team's remake of the original 2001 title is targeting a 2027 release. While development timelines can shift, this positions the game for a potential launch next year.
The report from MP1st also identified two voice actors attached to the project: Gabrielle Fritz and Jade Matthew. Fritz, known for roles in "Battlefield 2042" and "FBI: International," and Matthew, who appeared in "Judy" and "Torchwood: The Story Continues," are expected to voice characters from the original game's limited cast. Potential roles include Cybil Bennet, Lisa Garland, Dahlia Gillespie, Cheryl, or Alessa.
Bloober Team's Silent Hill remake was initially announced in June 2025, following the studio's work on the Silent Hill 2 remake. Previous speculation from leaker Dusk Golem suggested Bloober Team has been developing the Silent Hill remake since 2022, lending further credibility to a 2027 release.
Details regarding the scope of the remake remain scarce. However, given Bloober Team's approach to the Silent Hill 2 remake, which introduced significant changes and nearly doubled the game's length, it is possible the studio will take a similarly comprehensive approach to the first title.
This project adds to an already busy schedule for Bloober Team, which has two other survival horror games slated for 2027: "Star Trek: Shadow Frontier" and the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive "Onyx: The Dark Grip." The studio is also working on DLC for "Cronos: The New Dawn" and "Layers of Fear 3." The success of the Silent Hill 2 remake and "Cronos: The New Dawn" has helped Bloober Team rebuild its reputation after titles like "The Medium" and "Layers of Fear" (2023). Konami itself has also signaled a return to form with releases like "Castlevania: Belmont's Curse."
