The popular Dungeons & Dragons-inspired CRPG, Solasta 2, is set to receive a significant update that will introduce the Warlock class and cooperative multiplayer. This early access update, scheduled for release on September 10, aims to enhance the game's strategic depth and social play options. The update will feature the Warlock class, complete with two distinct subclasses: the Timekeeper and the Dreamer. The Timekeeper subclass focuses on augmenting allies' action economy and disrupting enemy reactions, while the Dreamer specializes in inflicting status effects like exhaustion and sleep, alongside classic Warlock abilities such as Eldritch Blast.

Multiplayer functionality will allow up to four players to embark on adventures together. Sessions can be joined by new or existing players, with options to assign them pre-made characters or allow them to create new ones. Host players will have control over companion assignments, and control of these characters can be distributed among the party members. Key decisions during gameplay, including story choices and dialogue, will be subject to a group vote among all players. To facilitate in-game communication, a ping system will also be implemented.

Beyond the new class and multiplayer features, the update includes several quality-of-life improvements and expanded customization options for players who prefer to manage their own party. These enhancements include additional hairstyles, tattoos, warpaint, and beard options. Players will also have the ability to randomize their character stats, opt-in or out of spell component rules for a more rules-accurate or simplified experience, and discover approximately 30 new world events during exploration. Cloud saves are being added, and a controller-friendly cautious mode will be available.

Following this early access update, a subsequent update is planned for the final quarter of the year. This next release is expected to introduce another new class, two additional ancestries, the beginning of Act Two, an increased level cap, and a crafting system. Solasta 2 is currently available on Steam.
