After a commanding run, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been displaced from the top spot at the domestic box office. The film's streak, which lasted since its July 31 release, concluded over the past weekend as the legacy sequel Practical Magic 2, starring Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, earned $30 million. Brand New Day subsequently moved to the second position, bringing in $8.4 million.

Despite losing the number one position, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is nearing another significant box office achievement. Its cumulative domestic gross has now surpassed $935 million, placing it less than $2 million away from surpassing Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens's $936.6 million to become the highest-grossing film in domestic box office history.

Earlier in its release, Brand New Day set its own records, including an impressive $72 million from preview screenings and a $360 million domestic opening weekend, surpassing Avengers: Endgame's $357 million. It also achieved the $1 billion worldwide milestone and became the second-fastest film to reach $2 billion globally, following only Avengers: Endgame.

Globally, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has grossed over $2.4 billion, making it the third highest-grossing film of all time, behind Avatar and Avengers: Endgame. This substantial box office performance has elevated star Tom Holland to become the highest-grossing lead actor of all time, a distinction typically awarded to actors with multiple high-grossing appearances in major franchises like Marvel films.
