A screening of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Cartagena, Colombia, was cut short when an attendee's flatulence created an unbearable odor, forcing the audience to evacuate the theater. The incident occurred on August 2 at the Cine Colombia multiplex in the Plaza Bocagrande shopping center.

Approximately halfway through the film, a strong, foul smell permeated the theater. According to reports, the odor was so potent that security personnel intervened and evacuated the audience. Despite the mass departure, the screening continued without interruption until its conclusion, though most moviegoers had already left. Footage of the audience exiting the theater circulated widely on social media, prompting numerous jokes online.

While speculation suggests the incident may have been a stink bomb prank, no culprits have been identified, and theater staff reportedly have no information regarding the cause. The theater has not issued a public statement.

This disruption did not significantly impact the film's performance. Spider-Man: Brand New Day has achieved a record-breaking opening weekend, grossing $360 million domestically and surpassing Avengers: Endgame's previous record. Globally, it has earned $932 million, making it the year's most profitable film to date. The movie is projected to surpass $1 billion in box office revenue within days. Additional IMAX screenings are scheduled to begin on August 7.
