GSC Game World has unveiled new details for its upcoming downloadable content for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, titled 'Cost of Hope'. A recently released deep-dive video showcases previously unexplored regions within the game's Zone, notably the Iron Forest and the Chornobyl Power Plant itself. This expansion is set to launch on August 20 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The 'Cost of Hope' DLC promises a substantial addition to the base game, with GSC Game World confirming it will contain dozens of hours of content. Players will be able to experience events that run parallel to the main storyline of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, playing as the character Skif. In-game notifications via the PDA will guide players to access the DLC content as the main story progresses. The expansion was initially announced during an Xbox Partner Showcase in March.

Beyond the new geographical areas, the DLC will introduce new weapons and gear, additional hubs, quests, and uncharted locations for players to discover. This marks the first story expansion for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. It was previously reported that Microsoft provided a significant payment to secure the game as a timed Xbox exclusive.
