Star Trek Legends is set to be delisted from digital storefronts later in August, marking the second time a Star Trek video game has been removed from sale this year. Developer Emerald City Games announced the upcoming delisting on Steam, stating that Star Trek Legends will be pulled from PC storefronts on August 20.

The game will be completely taken offline by September 3, rendering it unplayable. Recent player reviews on Steam indicate that the game may already be unplayable and offline for some users. Star Trek Legends originally launched as an Apple Arcade title before being ported to PC and consoles. It is a strategy RPG that allows players to assemble a crew of Star Trek characters from various eras to undertake missions.

This follows the earlier delisting of Star Trek: Resurgence earlier in the summer. Unlike Resurgence, which remains playable for those who purchased it prior to its removal, Star Trek Legends will become entirely inaccessible. The trend of delistings raises questions about the long-term availability of newer Star Trek games, such as the survival-strategy sim Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown, which was released in February and received a positive reception. Legends lasted approximately two years on Steam, while Resurgence had a shelf life of about three years.

The next Star Trek video game title on the horizon is Star Trek: Shadow Frontier, a horror game developed by the team responsible for the Silent Hill 2 remake.
