A new Star Wars comic series, "Star Wars: Ahsoka — Escape from Thrawn," will explore Ezra Bridger's journey following his exile and his encounters with Grand Admiral Thrawn. The five-issue limited series is slated for release in January 2027, coinciding with the premiere of the second season of the Disney Plus show "Ahsoka."
Dave Filoni, creator of the "Ahsoka" series and head of Lucasfilm, is providing the story for the comic. Rodney Barnes is writing the series, with art by Andrea Di Vito. The synopsis details Ezra's escape from Peridea aboard Thrawn's flagship, the Chimaera, and his subsequent efforts to evade Imperial forces and return home. The story will feature Captain Enoch and the Nightsisters, adding further context to the events of "Ahsoka" season one.
"Ahsoka" season two is anticipated to pick up with Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren stranded on Peridea, pursued by Shin Hati. Ezra and Thrawn are expected to return to the main galaxy, with Thrawn posing a threat to the New Republic. Rosario Dawson will reprise her role as Ahsoka, joined by Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn. Hayden Christensen is also confirmed to return as Anakin Skywalker.
The comic series was announced by Marvel Comics as part of their New York Comic Con reveals. Additional details are expected to be shared during the Lucasfilm Publishing panel at the convention on October 9.
