Fuse Games has launched the first update for its popular arcade racer, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, introducing several quality-of-life improvements for both PC and console players. The patch, which went live on October 22, addresses player feedback by increasing the maximum multiplayer party size and refining existing features.
The most significant change in the update is the expansion of online multiplayer parties from three players to six. This allows more friends to race together in online multiplayer Tours. "We wanted to bring this update to you as soon as we possibly could," the studio stated in its patch notes. "We can’t wait to see you challenge more of your friends in multiplayer Tours and hear your stories in our community spaces and watch along online."
For PC players, the update introduces new keyboard control presets, offering greater customization. While full key rebinding support is not yet implemented, Fuse Games has indicated it is a planned feature for a future update.
Beyond the headline changes, the patch includes several other notable adjustments:
- Increased credit rewards: Players joining mid-Tour in online multiplayer will now receive 6,000 credits, up from 4,000.
- Spectator camera improvements: Transitions for the Spectator camera view in multiplayer have been refined.
- Accidental quit prevention: The option to 'Exit the game' has been removed from the multiplayer menu on PC to prevent players from accidentally quitting matches.
- Stability fixes: Several party stability issues have been resolved.
- Platform fixes: A specific PS5 connection issue has been addressed, alongside a fix for an AMD Frame Interpolation game crash.
These changes aim to enhance the overall player experience in Star Wars: Galactic Racer, building upon its already strong reception since its release.
