Star Wars: Galactic Racer's Biddy Blas Becomes Accidental Star

Star Wars: Galactic Racer has launched to a solid 76 score in PC Gamer's review, but beyond its gameplay mechanics, the game has generated a surprising amount of attention for a single character: Biddy Blas. This peculiar alien has become an unexpected fan favorite, largely due to the distinctive and enthusiastic vocal performance from his voice actor.

Lucasfilm Games executive producer Craig Derrick noted on X that "the algorithm continues to properly prioritize Mister Biddy Blas," a sentiment echoed by many players who find the character unexpectedly memorable. Blas fits the description of a "Glup Shitto," a fan-created term for obscure Star Wars background characters who gain disproportionate popularity.

While the Crocin species, to which Blas belongs, first appeared in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Biddy Blas has achieved a level of fame that outstrips his predecessors. The Crocin are depicted as needing goggles to protect their sensitive eyes from sunlight, a necessity on their cavernous home planet. For Biddy Blas, however, his need for eyewear might be attributed to the "shine of his glorious racing prowess" or the dazzling glare of intergalactic fandom.

Blas himself claims a background as a Huttball player and a jatz trumpeter, an assertion that only adds to his eccentric charm. His combination of a shrill voice, a delusional self-perception, and a somewhat hideous appearance has cemented his status as an all-time memorable Star Wars character. Players are encouraged to remember the name Biddy Blas.
