Bit Reactor, the studio behind the recently released Star Wars: Zero Company, has begun the process of bringing back some of the employees who were furloughed shortly after the game's launch. CEO Greg Foertsch confirmed the rehiring efforts to Game File, stating that the studio is "starting the process of returning more of our team back to work." While specific numbers were not disclosed, sources familiar with the situation indicated that the current headcount is now more than half of its pre-furlough size.
It remains uncertain whether all furloughed staff will be rehired or if additional staff will be brought back in the future. The studio's return to work follows a period of uncertainty for its employees after the game's release in late August. Star Wars: Zero Company has been met with positive reviews, lauded for its blend of classic turn-based tactics reminiscent of XCOM with unique Star Wars elements, such as Force abilities used in combat. The game also features an original story set in the prequel era.
Separately, a lawsuit involving Bit Reactor CEO Greg Foertsch and co-founder Alison Kelly is currently ongoing.
