Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions, a spin-off of the popular space exploration game Astroneer, has launched into early access today. Developed by System Era Softworks, the game offers players the chance to explore a new alien planet, undertake missions, and manage resources aboard a space station. The developers describe the early access release as the "starting shape of the game," emphasizing that it will evolve based on player feedback over its anticipated year-long development cycle.
Players can expect to find a variety of missions, narrative elements, and opportunities to gather resources while defending against alien creatures. The game supports cross-platform play and progression. The first of several planned planets is available for exploration at launch.
System Era Softworks plans to release a roadmap of updates over the course of early access. The initial update will introduce ocean gameplay and a new region. Subsequent updates are slated to focus on endgame threats, expedition modifiers such as weather and extraction pressure, and station rewards. The final two updates will incorporate quality-of-life improvements and new in-game events. Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions is now available on Steam.
