Steam Next Fest is set to return for its October edition, offering PC players the chance to try out free demos for a wide array of upcoming games. The event will run from Oct. 19 to Oct. 26.
This event provides an opportunity for players to discover new titles before their official release. Developers upload free playable demos to Steam during Next Fest, which occurs several times a year. The October event marks the third Steam Next Fest of 2026, following similar showcases in February and June.
During previous iterations of Steam Next Fest, Polygon has highlighted promising titles such as Penguin Colony and Over The Hill. The February event drew attention to games like Denshattack!, Titanium Court, and Vampire Crawlers.
This year's festival will include demos for anticipated games like Emberville, described as a successor to Stardew Valley, and the social deduction game We Are So Cooked. Drunken Goddess Reflux, a drinking game inspired by Russian Roulette, has already garnered significant interest with over 500,000 wishlists.
Some demos are already available for early access. These include Ace & Aro: Heart-to-Heart and the visually distinct Fallgrade.
Steam Next Fest is scheduled to begin on Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. EDT and will conclude on Oct. 26.
