Valve's digital storefront, Steam, has reportedly generated $15 billion in revenue for the year 2026, according to new analysis from Alinea Analytics. This figure represents Valve's commission from the sale of games, downloadable content, and other software on its platform.

The leading revenue-generating new release on Steam this year is identified as Forza Horizon 6. The open-world racing game has brought in an estimated $210.5 million for Valve. Following closely behind is Crimson Desert, which has generated $203.3 million. Resident Evil Requiem rounds out the top three highest-earning new titles, contributing $200.9 million to Valve's revenue.

These top three titles, along with other major releases, indicate a strong performance for new intellectual properties as well. Two of the top six highest-grossing new releases, Crimson Desert and Meccha Chameleon, hail from new IPs. Across the top 100 new releases, the total revenue generated for Valve amounts to $2.4 billion, accounting for approximately 15.9 percent of the store's overall revenue so far this year. Rhys Elliott, an analyst at Alinea, noted that Crimson Desert alone accounts for 18 percent of the revenue from new IPs released on Steam this year.

The year's gaming landscape has already seen significant releases, including Onimusha: Way of the Sword and The Blood of Dawnwalker. Anticipated titles such as Gears of War: E-Day, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and Phantom Blade Zero are also slated for release later in 2026.
