Actor Stephen Root has officially confirmed his participation in Grand Theft Auto VI, putting an end to months of speculation surrounding the game's voice cast. Root, who appeared at the BAFTA TV Tea Party in California, shared the news in an interview, stating "Yeah, you're going to see me in there." He suggested that his involvement became an open secret due to his recognizable voice from previous roles, such as Bill Dauterive in 'King of the Hill.'

Root is set to portray a character named Brian Heder. While not explicitly confirmed by Root in the interview, his distinctive vocal performance is likely already audible in the game's promotional material. Brian is described as a veteran drug smuggler operating in the Leonida Keys area and also appears to be a landlord to protagonist Jason Duval. He is noted as a potentially significant figure within the game's narrative, even having his own profile on the official Grand Theft Auto VI website.

The profile indicates that Brian continues to manage drug operations from his boatyard with his wife, Lori, though he often delegates the more strenuous tasks. Grand Theft Auto VI is slated for release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Developer Rockstar Games is reportedly taking measures to safeguard the game's content from unauthorized access and leaks.
