Street Fighter Movie Post-Credits Scene Teases Sagat's Return

The live-action adaptation of Capcom's fighting game series, Street Fighter, has landed in theaters, and its post-credits scene offers a glimpse into potential future installments. The scene uses animation, breaking from the film's live-action format, to depict a conflict that arises after the main narrative concludes.

Viewers are shown Sagat, who was previously presented as Ryu's opponent in the opening World Warrior tournament, engaged in intense training. His continued anger suggests he harbors resentment towards Ryu following his defeat. The sequence then introduces M. Bison, Vega, Cammy, and Juli, who appear to recruit Sagat to their nefarious purposes.

This animated approach to Sagat's appearance may indicate that the filmmakers had not yet cast an actor for the character, nor were they able to credit a voice actor for his training grunts. This allows the film to confirm Sagat's future live-action role as Ryu's rival without requiring a firm commitment to an actor for the part.

The film's narrative also leaves room for a sequel, notably with Akuma's late arrival usurping M. Bison as the primary antagonist and the central conflict remaining unresolved. The realization of a sequel, however, hinges on the current film's box office performance.
