Studio Trigger has revealed details about upcoming projects, including a second season of its popular anime Delicious in Dungeon and a new original work from the acclaimed creative duo behind Kill la Kill and Promare.
Following the anticipated Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which is slated for release this fall, the studio will deliver more of Delicious in Dungeon in October 2027. The first season of Delicious in Dungeon aired on Netflix in 2024 and was praised for its lighthearted approach to a dungeon-crawling adventure. Teaser visuals for the upcoming second season were shared, indicating that it will continue to follow the same characters.
New Original Project from Imaishi and Nakashima
In addition to Delicious in Dungeon, Studio Trigger confirmed that director Hiroyuki Imaishi and writer Kazuki Nakashima are collaborating on a new project. Imaishi and Nakashima are the creative minds behind some of Trigger's most celebrated works, including the action series Kill la Kill and the feature film Promare. While details remain scarce, Nakashima confirmed that the script for this new project is complete, and Imaishi is currently working on storyboards. The pair described the project as a culmination of their careers.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is expected to launch this fall, with Delicious in Dungeon season two scheduled for October 2027. The release window for Imaishi and Nakashima's new project has not yet been announced.
