Dave the Diver is set to receive a crossover DLC pack with Subnautica 2, allowing players to venture into the alien waters of Unknown Worlds' survival game. Announced at the Triple-I Initiative showcase, this content pack will arrive in early 2027 and enable Dave to mine resources and hunt fish from Subnautica 2.
This collaboration offers players a unique opportunity to engage with creatures from Subnautica 2, including the often-criticized Nibbler Mangos. The inability to hunt large enemies in Subnautica 2 has been a point of contention for some players, leading to the creation of mods that allow for combat. This new DLC provides a sanctioned way to confront these creatures, albeit within the confines of Dave the Diver's gameplay.
Mintrocket, the developer behind Dave the Diver, expressed enthusiasm for the crossover. "We're thrilled to see Subnautica 2's creatures, including the Nibbler Mango, join Dave's world," a spokesperson stated. "The team had a lot of fun bringing these creatures into our game, and players can expect the DLC to play just like the Dave the Diver they know and love."
While this marks the final major DLC for Dave the Diver, Mintrocket indicated that smaller content updates or collaborations may still occur based on player feedback and internal plans. The developer is also focusing on ways to keep Dave and his companions in the spotlight, as a prequel game for Bancho the Chef is also in development, though its release date remains unannounced.
