The protracted legal conflict between Subnautica 2 developer Unknown Worlds and publisher Krafton has reportedly concluded with a settlement. As part of the agreement, Krafton will issue all outstanding bonuses to Unknown Worlds employees. Concurrently, the studio's CEO, Ted Gill, who was previously fired by Krafton and later reinstated through a court order, has announced his departure.
The dispute, which began last summer, saw Krafton terminate Gill and studio co-founders Charlie Cleveland and Max McGuire. Krafton's stated reason for the dismissals was the executives' alleged failure to perform their duties. In response, the three executives filed a lawsuit, contending that Krafton's actions were an attempt to evade a substantial $250 million bonus payment tied to the then-upcoming Subnautica 2. The legal proceedings have now been resolved through this settlement.
