AdHoc Studio is bringing its superhero workplace dramedy, Dispatch, to mobile platforms in December, alongside new behind-the-scenes content for the deluxe edition of the game. The mobile version, launching December 9 for Android and iOS, will feature a rebuilt experience optimized for touch and vertical play. Its first four episodes will be offered free at launch, with the full game available for $20.
Alongside the mobile release, the deluxe edition of Dispatch is receiving two new modes: Commentary and Storyboard. Commentary adds over 16 hours of cast and crew insights across two tracks, featuring voices like Aaron Paul, Laura Bailey, and Erin Yvette. Different in-game choices unlock specific commentary, allowing players to engage with the narrative in a new way. The Storyboard mode offers a look at the game's development through its original storyboard animatics, showcasing AdHoc's process for scene construction, performance capture, and visual storytelling. These modes can be combined, allowing players to listen to commentary while viewing the storyboards.
"Dispatch was only possible because of folks who believed in it enough to show up and do their best work," said Nick Herman, Co-Creative Director on Dispatch and COO of AdHoc Studio. "In our industry, it's often really hard to showcase those people and how the development process actually works, but fortunately our game is very weird and specific and affords us some unique opportunities." Herman added that these additions aim to provide fans with more ways to experience the world of Dispatch.
Further expanding the game's reach, AdHoc will also release new anniversary merchandise, a vinyl soundtrack, a physical edition of the digital comics, and a hardcover book titled "Dispatch: Design Works" exploring the game's creation. A one-night-only Dispatch concert is also scheduled for December 3 at Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles.
Dispatch follows Robert Robertson III, a former superhero known as Mecha Man. After his suit is damaged and his finances dwindle, Robertson takes a job as a dispatcher at the Superhero Dispatch Network (SDN), where he directs superhuman resources to combat crime and save the day.
