Tekken 8 Yujiro Hanma Teaser Unveiled, Baki Character Render Stirs Fan Reaction

Bandai Namco has given players their first glimpse of Yujiro Hanma, the Baki character set to join Tekken 8 as DLC. The reveal came during Evo France 2026, showcasing the fighter's in-game render, which some fans have noted is as distinctively uncanny as anticipated.

Following the recent releases of Kunimitsu and Bob, and with Roger Jr. slated for an early November 11 access launch and a full release on November 16, Yujiro remains one of the most anticipated additions to the game's roster. The latest trailer dedicated significant time to Roger Jr.'s gameplay, but a brief segment at the end offered the first look at Yujiro.

The teaser highlights Yujiro's expressive facial features and muscular physique, translating the Baki the Grappler villain's iconic look into the Tekken universe. While work on the character is still ongoing, a new trailer is scheduled to premiere at the Tekken World Tour Finals on January 17, 2027. This timing suggests a potential release window around that period, as Bandai Namco has typically maintained a few months between DLC character releases.

Yujiro Hanma and Roger Jr. are part of Tekken 8's Season 3 pass, which includes four bonus characters. This pass, currently priced at $34.99, follows Season 1 and Season 2, which introduced fighters such as Heihachi, Armor King, Anna, and Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy 16.

Further insights into Yujiro's design and the challenges of adapting a character known for never losing a fight were previously discussed by producer Naoya Yasuda and former Baki manga editor Yuki Yokoi. Discussions have also touched upon the influences behind Roger Jr.'s animations and the remarkable achievements of a blindfolded player within Tekken 8's ranking system.
