The real-time strategy game Tempest Rising will soon allow players to experience the previously computer-controlled Veti faction through a dedicated single-player campaign. This new content, titled The Veti's Wrath, will be released as a paid expansion later this year.

The Veti's Wrath expansion will feature 11 new campaign missions, matching the number of missions available for the game's other two factions, the GDF and the Tempest Dynasty. According to developer Slipgate Ironworks, the initial missions of the Veti campaign will function as a tutorial for the faction, similar to the base game's campaign structure.

This expansion addresses the long-standing question of whether the Veti, an ancient race with an Ancient Egyptian aesthetic that has slumbered beneath the Earth for centuries, would receive their own single-player content. While their multiplayer integration has been tested for some time, their campaign status remained uncertain until this announcement.

The Veti faction offers a distinct playstyle centered on conversion and sacrifice. Players can raise fallen enemy soldiers as "enlightened," which then serve as a resource to upgrade structures and provide other benefits.

Players eager to try out the Veti faction can access a portion of the expansion through the current Tempest Rising demo. This demo includes the first two missions for the Veti, alongside the initial two missions for both the GDF and Tempest Dynasty factions. It is important to note that while The Veti's Wrath is a paid expansion for single-player content, the Veti faction will be available in the base game's multiplayer mode at no additional cost.

Tempest Rising, released last year, was noted for its strong single-player offerings and its resemblance to the classic Command & Conquer formula. The game is currently available at a discount of 30% this weekend, bringing its price down to $27 (£21), with the sale ending tomorrow.
