Pavonis Interactive is expanding its ambitious sci-fi grand strategy game Terra Invicta with its first downloadable content pack, titled Dark Skies. The DLC, set to release on July 27th, introduces two new starting scenarios that significantly alter the game's initial conditions and challenges.

One of the new scenarios, "Broken Earth," thrusts players into an alternate timeline where the Cuban Missile Crisis escalated into full-scale nuclear war. A century after this global catastrophe, humanity is fractured into numerous polities, and players must guide a divided world to rebuild its strength to face the encroaching alien threat. This scenario offers a dramatically altered Earth, presenting unique geopolitical landscapes and a long, arduous struggle for survival.

The second scenario shifts the game's start date to 2003, placing players in a world where UFO skepticism is rampant and the alien invasion is met with widespread disbelief. This earlier start provides an additional 20 years to prepare for the alien arrival, but the reduced belief in extraterrestrial threats creates its own set of obstacles. Players will contend with offworld infiltrators and human collaborators while navigating a slower, more protracted conflict on Earth, with new research projects and technologies becoming available.

Beyond the new scenarios, Dark Skies also brings visual enhancements to the game's spacecraft. The DLC will feature new ship design styles, one inspired by NASA's aesthetic and another by industrial hard science fiction themes. Terra Invicta's Dark Skies DLC will be available on Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store.
