The development team behind Calamity, a prominent mod for the game Terraria, has announced a halt to the mod's future development. This decision follows serious allegations leveled against its lead developer, Ozzatron, concerning actions that allegedly endangered minors and a failure to compensate team members.

The collective of developers, excluding Ozzatron, revealed their decision on August 10th, stating they could no longer continue work on the mod due to its "irrecoverably tainted reputation." According to Mrrp, one of the lead developers, the team discovered what they described as "solid evidence of their actions endangering minors on Discord," stemming from a separate server known as "Wormhole." While unconfirmed by official sources, a Google Drive folder has reportedly been compiled by the Terraria community containing purported evidence.

In addition to the allegations regarding conduct, the Calamity Mod Developers issued a statement claiming they have not received compensation for their contributions. They also noted that Ozzatron has not disclosed plans for "several thousand" dollars in Patreon funds accumulated for the mod. Mrrp urged users to cancel any ongoing Patreon donations to the Calamity Patreon page, citing the discontinuation of the mod and Ozzatron's sole ownership of the account.

An Internet Archive snapshot from August 9th, 2026, indicated the Calamity Patreon was earning approximately $2,600 per month. As of this writing, that figure has reportedly decreased to around $480 per month. The development team is reportedly working with tMod staff to facilitate the transfer of ownership for the Steam workshop page. However, this process may be complicated by Ozzatron's ownership of Azafure LLC, the entity that formally owns the Calamity Mod.

Despite the current circumstances, the Calamity Mod Developers expressed gratitude for the decade of support the mod has received. Their joint statement concluded by reflecting on the experience, stating that while the journey had its difficulties, the skills and lessons learned by the team are invaluable and may contribute to future endeavors.
