Developer Rebel Wolves and publisher Bandai Namco have confirmed that The Blood of Dawnwalker will not feature a 60 frames per second performance mode on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S at its launch next month. Instead, players will have two graphics options: a Quality Mode targeting 30fps at dynamic 4K resolution and a Balanced Mode aiming for 40fps, also at dynamic 4K.

Even the forthcoming PS5 Pro will adhere to these frame rate and resolution targets, though it is described as offering enhanced visual quality within both modes. The absence of a 60fps option has prompted discussion among some fans, with hopes for a post-launch performance patch or a preference for a lower-resolution 60fps mode.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is directed by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who previously served as game director on The Witcher 3 and held key production roles on Cyberpunk 2077. The game is scheduled for release on September 3rd. Early impressions from a four-hour play session were positive, with praise for the combat depth and the game's ambitious concepts regarding sandbox freedom and time constraints, suggesting it could be a significant RPG release.
